How to plan a multi-stop route for your Tesla

By the SelfRoute team at Lion Adv, Inc. · Updated October 18, 2026

SelfRoute is an iPhone route planner for Tesla owners who manage deliveries, property showings, service calls, or everyday errands. Build an ordered list of up to 500 stops, save it, and send each destination to Tesla navigation individually from iPhone or Apple Watch.

Already have the addresses in a spreadsheet, ChatGPT, or Claude? Copy and paste one full address per line. Compatible software can import through the SelfRoute API. For direct AI imports, see the local MCP developer preview. Review your list before sending each next destination to Tesla.

Can Tesla navigation handle multiple stops?

Yes. Tesla documents adding and editing stops in its navigation system and, where available, editing a trip in the Tesla mobile app. SelfRoute adds a separate workflow for organizing reusable address lists and importing routes from business software. It does not replace Tesla’s native navigation or charging planner. See Tesla’s Maps and Navigation manual for native features and availability.

How do you send a planned route from iPhone to Tesla?

  1. Connect your eligible Tesla through Tesla’s official authorization flow in SelfRoute.
  2. Add full addresses, paste one address per line, or import a saved route through the API.
  3. Arrange the stops manually. For 3–20 stops, review a proposed driving-time optimization before applying it.
  4. Select the next destination and tap Send to Tesla. Confirm it appears in the vehicle’s navigation.
  5. At the stop, mark it complete and send the next destination. SelfRoute preserves the remaining list.

Which planner fits your trip?

All destinations installed in the car at onceSelfRoute does not currently provide this. It sends one destination per action.

Can you plan 10, 100, or 500 stops?

SelfRoute supports up to 500 stops in a manually ordered route. That is the app’s planning capacity, not a Tesla waypoint limit. Driving-time optimization currently supports 3–20 stops. Larger lists can be arranged manually; the app does not claim to optimize all 500 stops or automatically drive through the entire list.

Does this work with Full Self-Driving?

After a destination appears in Tesla navigation, a driver with an eligible vehicle can engage Full Self-Driving (Supervised) where available. The driver must actively supervise. SelfRoute does not activate or control FSD. See Tesla’s FSD guidance.

Can you use Apple Watch?

SelfRoute’s Apple Watch companion works with the iPhone app to keep the route close at hand and send the next destination. Connect your Tesla and prepare the route on iPhone first. Review setup and delivery-status help before starting your day.
